The Chimney – Take a short drive just from the town in order to see the coal mining from in the early days. Entry is free of charge and you can arrange with your local agent or some friends.
Bird Park – When you visit the Chimney, don’t forget to stop by at the Bird park which is just opposite of the Chimney. Entrance is not free but just cheap as 3 RM for locals and 5 RM for foreigners.
Beach – Of course this island is connected to the Pearl of South China Sea and has beautiful stretches of beach. Check out Pohon Batu and Pancur Hitam where the locals hang out for picnic and enjoy BBQ during the weekend.
Kampung Air or Water Village – Last but not the least! Have a great experiences of visiting houses, shops, and mosques which are built on wooden houses on the water shore. You don’t need a boat to get in to the village. Just enjoy the walk through wooden bridge or steel concrete walkways which connected to every part of the village. Villagers are friendly and don’t mind tourists walking around their villages and snapping pictures.
